NYC Area Home & Homes
« on: May 01, 2015, 12:47:58 PM »
Had an idea for this community as the weather continues to improve in the greater NYC area (NY/NJ/CT New Haven & down).  Maybe this catches on, maybe it doesn't.  Having said that, why dont those of us who live in this area or are planning to visit this area this summer post where they play, their handicap and if they are willing to trade/host rounds at their clubs this summer.

I'm currently a 5.4 and play out of Inwood Country Club.

Outpost Club already does this for a small fee.

Say something interesting. By 50 posts I had invites to every decent club in the country.

John,

i thought outpost was invite only, do you have any insights as to how one becomes a member if not invited?

@Cliff - i'm already a boxgroove member, and love its benefits. here i was trying to barter ones or expand my boundaries.

"No matter how much you may dislike pickles, they are, in fact, the only thing you can do with cucumbers."

Really, I'm not trying to derail this thread.  John's comment made me think of this line from an old comedy album from around 1970.  Bonus points if you can name the album.

The Minneapolis Group has a separate Google Group where people exchange info, share open tee times and arrange monthly outings in the summer, etc. Good way to communicate regionally without cluttering up GCA.

appreciate the words of wisdom. i reached out to outpost club, didn't mention your name (and now i understand why given your opinions on this thread http://www.golfclubatlas.com/forum/index.php/topic,46961.50.html), and asked about membership. i doubt they'll grant.

Ditto. Thread of the month.

There's a new contender now. How many clubs in New York will let me hit balls from my bag onto their range without paying or asking permission?
