A denizen expressed concern that the images were taken by a trespassing agent. I can assure all that this is not the case. A friend with legitimate and legal access to the hallowed grounds took the pictures and asked if I would post them. I agreed and indicated that I would maintain said allegiant's anonymity.

Thanks to all for your concern. I hope that you enjoy the images in the manner that they were intended.

Ron - Thanks for posting these. Now that it's January and only 3 1/2 mos. until golf returns to the east end, one can start counting down the days !

JKinney,

What's truly remarkable about NGLA is how few amendments have been made over the last century and yet the course not only remains relavent, but challenging to some of the best golfers in the world, while at the same time presenting one of the most enjoyable challenges to every level of golfer.

The architecture is pure genius.

The golf course pure joy

Can't wait for Spring

Might be a dumb question, but here it goes anyway:

is the course officially closed during the winter? How can they keep people off the course given there are no fences (that I can see)?

One more: What is the deal with the two flagsticks on the green? Is that a practice area?

Thanks! Rob

Rob,
The two flag sticks are on a practice green in the new area behind the first tee on the border of Sebonack. It used to be a caddie parking lot, until they changed it a few years ago.
As for people sneaking on. I am sure it could happen around holes 8, 9, 10 etc, but the course is fairly geographically isolated and is accessible by one road. If someone tried to sneak on in the middle of winter, people would know.
