I enjoyed watching the Northern Trust PGA tournament from Ridgewood Country Club on CBS today. It looked to be a very good renovation of a good Tillinghast course. I was glad to hear Dottie Pepper talk about the redo of this course and others like it--mentioning the adding of width to the fairways and removal of trees, restoring of greens to original size, etc. She talked about the use of newly-found maps and photos at other old courses that have aided in the restoration of classic courses.
I searched for more information on this course which I haven't played, and found some mentions of it on past GCA posts, but nothing in any depth. Gil Hanse redo, I understand. #56 on Golfweek Top 100 Classic Courses. What else is worth mentioning and discussing?
