Mark,
I have played it this year. The work done has really improved the course. I don't have any pictures but hopefully someone will Post some. It is worth a trip.

Mark,

Take a look at this thread...

I took a trip out to the hamptons this past spring and played Maidstone and a few others of note. Let me know if you have any other questions. I was lucky enough to play it again in September.

I played Maidstone last week and I thought it was terrific.

I did take a number of photos during my round - if there are any particular holes anyone wants to see, let me know and I'll post them tonight.

Matt,

I've been anxious to see pics of the recent work that Coore and Crenshaw did.  Any images that you could post of holes that have noticeably changed would be appreciated!

Yep.  I absolutely love the place.

Never played it before C&C but the member with whom I played seemed quite proud of the work they did.

I also found it pretty challenging for a 6400 yard course.  Wind can be a big factor.

I had to dig deep to find some photos of Maidstone before the renovation.  Hopefully I'll have more later.  This is the par 3 8th.  I'm told the members love it.

The par 4 9th hole in 2002. This photo was taken from the right of the tee on top of the sand dune and is not the line of play.

Having never played the course prior to last week, I don't have any frame of reference for what's changed since Coore & Crenshaw have done their work.  My caddy did point out some new bunkers throughout the day, like on #16 and #18 but I'll have to defer to the experts here for a better breakdown.

With that said, here are some photos...front nine first:

#2 - 537 Yards Par 5

#4 - 176 Yards Par 3

#6 - 403 Yards Par 4

#7 - 341 Yards Par 4

#8 - 151 Yards Par 3

#8 From behind the green looking back (that's the super cool 10th green in the background on the right)

#9 - 415 Yards Par 4 (epic view!)

Now for some back nine shots:

#10 - 387 Yards Par 4

#11 - 464 Yards Par 4

#12 - 181 Yards Par 3

#13 - 500 Yards Par 5

#14 - 152 Yards Par 3

#15 - 493 Yards Par 5

#16 - 485 Yards Par 5

These bunkers are evidently new...please correct me if I'm wrong:

A shot of the same bunkers looking the other way toward the 3rd green (kind of a cool, shared fairway if you will)

#17 - 328 Yards Par 4

#18 - 390 Yards Par 4

What a GREAT track and a wonderful club.  I could play Maidstone every day and be a very happy man.

Anyone ever seen a better/cooler cartpath than that?

My most memorable day of golf started with a round at Maidstone almost 10 years ago to the day.  The C&C updates look fantastic.  Would love to see them in person some day.

Some dramatic differences in before and after.  I found this older photo of the 10th and one from the restoration.
