It is a good golf course, not a great one and you can't see the sea, but it a links and it has genuine championship status.

Below the end of the original article, there is an update which states the club has been withdrawn from the market for several months.

Wasn't there also an estate near the Northern Tip of Scotland that was for sale which included the local links - I think it might have been Reay Golf Links near Thurso.

Yes, there was an estate for sale near Reay, Scotland that owned the land under the Reay golf course. I don't know if it sold or is still for sale.

Upon further review, it looks like the property was taken off the market. Here is the original listing:
