I think many hundreds of people could design a course that I'd enjoy well enough, but my standards are lower than yours, and my experience with great golf courses much more limited and sporadic.

Not sure if anyone is interested but there is a new golf game on the way which will be community driven. The building of courses looks simple so anybody can design a course.

I think anyone can design a golf course.  I think anyone can also design a house, a dress, a swimming pool.  Hell anyone can put stiches in a patient.  I think the key here is to define design.  What I don't think anyone can do is design and then build the golf course.

Speaking from personal experience , an emphatic yes!  The people on this site would no doubt have a better chance at success than most. Probably would have to do it the old fashioned way , as computer graphics and the ability to  use same are an acquired trait.

As Mike Young states , the,construction and implementation of plans is far more difficult than envisioning the holes.

You did more than design a course, you created a unique course in "Twisted Dunes".

What prior experience did you have before embarking on that project ?

Tellus how you established the routing, then the individual hole designs.
