Love the sign on the Robin's Donuts picture in the slide show: "Opening Really Soon". :)

Great piece.

Will the local airport accomodate my G5?  ;D   That 3.5 hour drive from the nearest airport could be a deal breaker for my wife....not for me.

Great article. My wife saw it before I did this morning and asked if I'd heard of this Bandon Dunes sort of place in Nova Scotia? She's now fired up for a trip.

Congrats Ben and all. Exactly the right kind of pub.

It really isn't a bad drive from Halifax. There's some slow downs (traffic lights etc.) in the middle, but otherwise, it's a very nice drive. The last leg, once on Cape Breton Island, is my favorite part.

The most amazing drive is from Inverness to Highlands Links along the coast road. Better than Big Sur, because you can see it.

The region exudes a laid back ethos. Caring about drive times, would miss the whole point of destination golf. Chill'in with Nature.

Steve - 3.5 hours?  Heck -I'm planning to drive from Philly.  (Actually, I've done the Philly/Nova Scotia road trip before, and it's really neat once you get up past Boston.  You know you're in for a treat when I-95 starts having Moose Crossing signs :)

Mark - I made the drive from Highlands Links to Cheticamp starting at dusk.   I have never seen dark as the Cabot Trail at night.  I admit that I was scared - moose and cliffs and ink-black everything tend to do that to me.   In other words, get a better tee time :)
