My basis was a conversation with a Philly area super.  It was a while ago and I may or may not have understood correctly.  There is a chance I got it wrong, I probably should have qualified my post (or not posted!).  Would be interested in hearing from those that know, though.

Last summer I think there were more Penn State interns than members there.

Your comments are some bit correct, alot of the top courses in the states take interns from overseas.

I completed internships at two courses approx 4 years ago through a sponsorship with an american university.

Merion is one of those clubs, they provide paid internships to students who are aspiring superintendents.
