Hi all. My name is Jeb Bearer, I've been reading this site for some time now but never got around to joining, so I finally decided to just go ahead, and here I am.

I'm 17 years old, I live in Bethesda, MD and go to Georgetown Prep High School, where I play on the golf team. I've been an avid golfer for about six years or so, and I've been into golf architecture for most of that time. I'm really happy to be here now and looking forward to getting into the discussion!

Avoid Merion -- got it. 

Bill: It's hard for me to pick a favorite architect when there's so many doing really great work right now: Doak, C & C, Hanse, etc. Then of course you've got the past architects, of whom my favorites would probably be Mackenzie and Stanley Thompson.

The pace of play's not too bad, usually about two hours for nine hole matches.

I look forward to learning as much as I can from this site.

I may get slammed for saying this, but though I greatly admire MacDonald for being one of the most influential architects ever and pretty much bringing strategic design to America, I wish his style had been a little more natural in appearance
