Looks like one course is not enough for the GoDaddy.com founder.

This is another example of the kind of golf course development we are likely to see in the near future. A very, very wealthy guy spending his own money to build/develop a golf course/club.

The list of nouveau riche wannabe Augusta members who build their own shrine to themselves is the pathetic underbelly of the capitalist system.  Someone should feed him a tab of strong windowpane acid and have him play Rich Harvest Farms from the tips before he breaks ground.  He'll end up sucking his thumb in the fetal position in the Common Ground clubhouse...  You'd think at least one new money guy would be more original.  Thank you, Mike Keiser....

Golf is a game. We play it. Somewhere along the way we took the fun out of it and charged a premium to be punished.- - Ron Sirak

Ego maniacs have always been around and will continue to be but to turn around the current market and recuperate 50% of what it was, will take sound and solid business plans that have positive IRR.

The first thing I thought of was water, does he have it and how much will he use?

This is going to be one of the more compelling developments over the next few years.

All courses in Scottsdale use effluence.

BTW here's a good quote from Lyle Anderson:

“The offer was substantial enough for us to not do the project,” Anderson told me.
"Some of us worship in churches, some in synagogues, some on golf courses ... "  Adlai Stevenson
Hyman Roth to Michael Corleone: "We're bigger than US Steel."
Ben Hogan “The most important shot in golf is the next one”
