Last night, we saw Australia's Tommy Emmanuel in concert.  If you don't know, Tommy is one of the best guitarists in the world.  His concert was the perfect blend of amazing musical artistry combined with exacting technical precision.

During intermission, I thought that Tommy's concert was a metaphor for great golf course design - the perfect blend of artistry and technical details.

What courses do you think provide that perfect blend?  Conversely, what are some examples where a course excels either artistry or technical areas, but falls short in the other?
