I was impressed that Mickleson, who has the last tee time today, was at the ceremonial tee off this morning.

Wonder if he hit the KK drive thru on the way home?
(I think that was one of the great pics of all time, on the Monday after).

So was I.

Jeff,

I'm up at 6:15am every morning.

And, I'll work all day long and well into the evening.

Are you equally impressed ?  ;D

I noticed that too, Jeff. Even more striking for me: watching how, after 60+ years of golf, and thousands of tournaments, and millions of golf shots, Mr. Nicklaus still treats each shot as if it were a putt to win a major championship. His pre-shot routine for the opening tee shot as an honorary starter was exactly the same as it was 25 years ago, when he was winning the darn thing!

I'm an Air Traffic Controller at JFK so I don't get impressed that easily.

Actually yes. You should be relaxing a little more at this stage.

Now we're impressed. You don't have a slack lawyer job like Patrick.

You were easily impressed when Phil, who couldn't sleep because TEPaul was outside his window yelling that he wanted Phil to sign his petition claiming that Moriarty's white paper on Merion was a total fabrication, decided to go and watch the big 3 tee off.

I just saw a replay of it.

Arnie seemed to be pretty psyched that Phil was there.

I was surprised that Tom Watson wasn't there making sure Gary Player didn't tee it up in front of the tee markers.

Almost nearly as impressive was the gallery hunting for Phil's ball after his errant drive on #10:

Howard, I also was amazed at the size of the search party! When I hit in stuff like that, it is me and MAYBE my caddy looking :)

While very different circumstances, I was reminded of Tiger's gallery moving the boulder at Phoenix in 1999:

I still can't understand how it was a loose impediment, but that's another story.

I was too but after 20 years i would be curious to watch the starters too. I am the first to see Phil and media suckup. But I think this was just good ole fashion curiosity about something very cool that almost all players miss.
