It seems as though the reachable par 5 is much, much more common. The old risk vs reward (and playing vs scoring also) comes into play. It's rare w/ a 300 rds par 4 or less happens that I won't take a rip, though strategically it tends to be the wrong decision. The 2 (or even, dare we say a 1) on the par 4 is such a great number, and so very rare. While the chance for a 3 on a par 5 can happen 4 times in one round.
