Hidden Holes at Bandon Dunes
« on: July 25, 2010, 05:48:19 PM »
I was just looking at Bandon Dunes in Google Earth when I noticed the two hidden holes in between Holes #9, #10 and #11.  I'm not sure how old the Google Earth photo is, but they appear to be maintained, if not irrigated.  Anyone have any info about these holes?  I'm guessing that they were part of the early practice facility.

Those holes are part of the practice facility.

They may have been holes from the original 18-hole routing for Bandon Dunes, before Mr. Keiser acquired the ground to the north.  I know David's original routing was pretty tight, and that he welcomed building the 5th green and holes 6-8 on the new property ... I'm not sure how the original holes were supposed to fit in, but I do know he didn't have a lot of extra space.

the area west of the old warm-up range is home to the fairway and green nurseries.
