Jim,

Yes, I normally stop at two mysefl, but I'm sure out there somewhere someone is furiously searching my previous posts to find evidence of my fluffing.  ;)  ;D

I get it, you are mad at the world because you are an adult caddie and few people take you seriously.

Excellent spellers usually lack any vision or common sense.

I know plenty of courses that are in the red, and they are killing it.

JC's,

Well, I did ask for humor, so I guess that works.

I thought the self-deprecation on post #1 would work to combat that, but perhaps not.

In any case, feel free to add your own rules, as well-thought out responses sometimes work better than pithy cheap shots from the sidelines.

New Rule: Don't start a thread giving credit to an extreme left or right leaning political commentator that favors your side of the political equation while simultaneously trying to make said commentator out to be some form of balanced, brutally honest breath of fresh air that people on the opposite side of the spectrum might enjoy as well and expect the discussion not to veer to said political bias.

Tim,

Don't think I did that, but that's a fair rule.

I don't find myself agreeing with Maher more than half the time, and sometimes he's just as egregiously wrong and arrogant as his counterparts on the right.

I just like the refreshing honesty found in the "New Rules" segment, which blends pointed humor with larger points pretty well, most times.   In fact, if guys like Sean Hannity had any sense of humor, I may have used him as an example because I agree with about half of his politics, as well, and Rush used to be funnier but now just seems a bit bizarre.

In any case, I certainly didn't want to make this thread about politics, but since I stole his idea, I thought I should credit him.

Let's pretend I said it was Mark Levine (sp?), who at least mixes some humor with his points, and perhaps move on?

New Rule: Don't waste other people's time by posting inane threads that serve no purpose other than to clog the first page and take away from legit discussion.

Case in point: This thread.

New rule: Don't post responses to threads you don't want to see hog space on the first page knowing the your response perpetuates the problem.  :o

New Rule: Every GCA member should have to read this entry regarding Godwin's Law BEFORE they're allowed to post.

After reading about Godwin's Law, each member should have to pledge not to perpetuate the problem.

Mike:

Shivas has long promulgated this point during contentious GCA debates -- you can tell the first person who essentially throws in the towel on a debate will be the one invoking Godwin's Law.

Full Disclosure: I learned about Godwin's Law in a Shivas themed thread.  It was the best part of the thread...

Tim, as I ponder you new rule, I have no answer. Bunk would laugh himself silly and would swear up a storm at the notion of us participating on this site at all...

Every thread should have a "The Wire" reference as it instantly makes the thread more worth reading :)
