MacKenzie-Morse Correspondence.......
« on: March 15, 2002, 02:25:18 PM »
In going through my files, I came across a three page letter dated January 26th, 1932, from the good doctor to S.F.B. Morse re the Shore Course at MPCC and the reply. It would appear that Robert Hunter was very deeply involved at Cypress, MPCC and the Meadow Club.

As my scanner is on the blink I am unable to post here. If any MacKenzie fans would like to read this, send me your fax number and I will do the rest.

Bob:

Holy Cow, a bit of info like this and this topic was about to go to the second page without a reply! What's happening to Golfclubatlas? That's almost criminal.

I'm not sure if my own fax might not be on the blink at the moment but if you'd care to give my fax 610-353-0568 a try I'd be very grateful! What else of historic interest do you have on Hunter or any of those Monterey School guys (or ladies)?

I'm quickly coming to believe that the entire "Monterey School" of architecture may have been the most fascinating of all and that the people who made up the "Monterey School" most definitely were!

Bob,
What an interesting thing to stumble on in your files. Your files are certainly more interesting than mine it appears. I would love to see the letter if you could fax it to me at 415 353-1202. See you next month at Barona. :D

Bob, I think that the best way to do this is bring about 100 copies of the letter to Barona!

In all seriousness, if you could me one then, it would be appreicated. thanks

Tommy et al:

I'll bring a bunch down to Barona.

I shall fax to Sean, Josh Taylor, TEPaul and Bill McBride this evening, without a cover page.

Bob, just a suggestion...

Why not send one copy to someone that has a scanner and OCR program.  They could scan and convert it to a text file, cut and paste it to a post on here, and then everyone could see it without you having to make a billion fax calls or make copies to haul down to Barona.  We can all read it and discuss it en masse here...  ;D

No actual golf rounds were ruined or delayed, nor golf rules broken, in the taking of any photographs that may be displayed by the above forum user.

As I am a hopeless aging Luddite, I would love to take up Mr. Daly's suggestion and have one of you boffins recive my fax and then scan and post for every one to see. Who will volunteer?
