What does it matter if the poor player can putt all the way from tee to green, provided that he has to zigzag so frequently that he takes six or seven putts to reach it?     --Alistair Mackenzie--

OK, I'll say it...I think Whybark should have played his best against Doran and let Doran earn his spot in the nationals.  Letting Doran get there on an intentional foot fault is not what competition is all about, at least to me.

I heard this story this morning on local sports radio as I guess it happened somewhere in Chicago.

Honestly I understand why people think it's a great story and all, but at the same time I think what the Soph. did was pointless and a little insulting to the Senior. What is the Senior supposed to think when the other guy pumps a ball out of bounds and say's "don't worry Senior, you deserve to go to Nationals and I'm already going...so I let you win." If I were that Senior I would of wanted to earn my playoff win.

But maybe that's just me...
