Bellerive's greens
« on: September 02, 2016, 08:29:20 AM »
I heard they lost their greens. I was told what happened and that their super is fixing a mess from years ago. Does anyone know how this occurred? I wish I could describe it better, but not really sure what happened. If no one knows, I will ask my friend for a better description. He was saying there was a substance under the green about 18" deep that was very difficult to cut through and the grass boiled due to heat and rain recently.

I heard the same story.
It's not the first time they've lost their greens, but at least they have nearly 2 years until the PGA Championship.

Ditto here. I guess an $8 million renovation a few years ago doesn't go as far as it used to. I believe they have sub-air systems in those things too.

Its been a tough summer here on grass though. Constant rain fall and high humidity has weeds flourishing - at least they are in my yard.

I would not want to be a super in St Louis -- good city, horrible summers. I tell people in MN when they complain about an odd warm humid day that it would be the nicest day of the summer in St Louis.
