In a similar vein, how do they see water resource issues impacting their future designs or redesigns?

How do they see the future economic outlook for golf courses impacting design strategies and budgets in the US?

How are they planning on adapting their style if at all?

If they had a site that was 50/50 walkable - would they try to make it walkable or build a "mostly carts course"? :)

...7 acre's of maintained greens? Sorry had to do it! ;)

GREAT question Alex.  The Colorado River is drying up badly...

I would ask Rees why he nver deviates from his style of bunker? What does he see with their style that I don't.

Would perfectly round circle bunkers,multi-fingered bunkers with high lips, and 60's looking large low lippers not be different styles?
because I've seen at least that many styles on his courses

Tom:  Why did you change the character of the 10th green at Pine Valley, or the fifth green slope from back to left front ?  The D/A was a traditional part of the "Valley".  And we always left ourselves short of the pin on #5.

Rees:  Do you have any ideas already for changes to Bethpage Black if they are awarded another US Open?

YES!

I would ask Fazio if he could craft a great course on a shoestring budget a la Doak's CommonGround in CO.  To my knowledge, the most public-friendly TF course is Independence GC at the VSGA outside of Richmond.

I would ask Rees what he loves so much about the profusions of uniform-size mounds that appear on golf courses designed by him.

For Rees

Do you REALLY think Hanse and Bahto messed up your wonderful work of years past at Sleepy Hollow CC? What was the alternative plan for 18 at Bethpage Black? Is that the best that could be done?

Does it compensate for your deficiencies as an architect to change courses of other architects who lived prior to you? If your courses were changed after you were dead, would that mean that the architect performing the work was "fixing your mistakes"? Would that mean that they were a better architect than you by doing so? How would it make you feel knowing that someone else was changing an original design of yours? Rees, why have you not had original courses that are as lauded as the courses that you are asked to alter? How does it make you feel knowing what was done in Bandon that has been so well received vs your effort at Sandpines and how that has been received? TF, when might we see cost effective, low maintenance efforts from you that all levels of golfers can play? If either of you could change renovation work that you have performed, would you and what which courses would they be?
