Ditto the Bandon statement - just in case anyone is interested in seeing some shots of a pretty incredible golf course . . .

http://www.thewalkinggolfer.com/Pacific_Dunes.html

PD was certainly my favorite on the property for a few reasons. The site, the routing, the thoughtful design, the survival of so many natural features, the walkability - I do not think I have ever played a more complete course. In my fairly limited experience, Pacific Dunes and Ballybunion are in a different class.

Note: I have not been to Scotland, nor have I played the Monterrey courses, the Aussie sandbelt tracks or the many gems of Long Island. All I am trying to say is that PD is totally and utterly an incredible golfing experience (even/especially in 40 mph winds).

Thanks Emil - BDGR is an incredible place - when OM open it will have four of the top courses in the country on one property - unreal!

Rob - thanks very much for that excellent photo tour.

Seeing the photos of PD this time, the first idea that came to mind was the "clarity" of the design, the wholeness and unity of it.

Peter,

Thanks for the props - and I totally agree, the design flows in a beautiful and coherent manner which is an element of why it is on such an elite level.

Great pics of Pacific. Was there on my fifth visit about six weeks ago and I love the place more each time. Also, each round has been completely different including rounds in the same visit as I have played each course twice on each visit. As with true links the weather is such a key element and adds to how special a place Bandon is. Absolutely love the 6th hole. One of my favorites.
