Where to play in Atlanta?
« on: July 05, 2009, 04:08:38 PM »
Where should I play in Atlanta on a Friday in August?
I've played East Lake twice.
Cuscowilla is not open to outside(non resort) play on Fridays.
Ideas?

Longshadow

I'll second that nomination.  Long Shadow is in Madison so it's nearly an hour's drive away.  But since you mentioned Cuscowilla, it seems that you don't have to be too close.  These should pique your interest.

I'll give a third to Long Shadow out in Madison.

It's not in "country club" condition and it has a double wide for a clubhouse.  I saw it on Friday and I will say that the owner needs to put some TLC into it.  I think he may even lose parts of a green or two if he's not careful.  These are all things that added to the experience though.  Simple clubhouse, and running hard and fast on the greens and fairways.

The cherry on top was listening to Mr. Young chuckle as I fell into many of his architectural traps as he gleefully mocked me wearing an NGLA polo shirt. ;D

Longshadow sounds like a winner. Thanks.
