Interesting, I note that the wee man in the illustration is wearing a german helmet. Presumably at that point such techniques weren't meant to be used against anyone else !

Very interesting article, but I don't think the idea was to conceal a mainline trench. I wonder if they built any "saps" to his specs?
I also wonder where the sod was to come from once the high explosive had blown it to bits.
