Pine Lakes (MB) and The Dunes
« on: April 01, 2009, 08:33:04 PM »
I am playing Pine Lakes and the Dunes next week each for the first time and am really excited about it.  I know MB really well and know a bit about both but am curious if anyone has played either one of them recently?  Pines Lakes just recently reopened after a restoration but I haven't heard anything about it.  Thanks in advance.

I played the Dunes in January and the course was in fantastic shape.  It's just a great classic golf course and is arguably the best course on the grand strand.  I play there every time i go to myrtle along with Caledonia without fail.

Played Pine Lakes the day after it reopened. Good solid course, but not fully grown in yet. Something about a new strain of grass on the course that likes brackish water. It may have popped to life by now or at least improved. Either way it was very playable and apparently they have dramatically increased the scale of the course. The greens, for example, are quite large. Never saw he original. Recommend the Grandaddy cheeseburger, but you won't have to eat again for a week.

I'm a big fan of The Dunes and highly recommend it. Unless they have been deleted, there should be some pics on site of The Dunes that I posted a while back.
