Another great look that I have seen was at Bulls Bay CC (Mike Strantz) just outside of Charlestown, SC.
The tee markers were the hole numbers... made of black cast iron, done in sort of twisted "font".
As a non-member playing in for the first I was certainly lost a few times, but for the membership it is a very understated way to do it.
