The 6th at Eglin AFB, a Langford & Moreau near Pensocala. This is from the crest of the hill following a blind tee shot. There's a bell at the bottom of the hill that one rings after hitting their 2nd shot, which is also mostly blind as it's from well below the green.

Daniel,

I know since you said you walked you have no pics of the seventh. That would have required at least 4 liters of O2 to hold the camera as you went up that hill!

Indeed, Nigel! Especially since I hoofed the first part of the hill because the guys behind me didn't "wait for the bell" and were hitting into me. Naturally, I blamed them and my elevated heart rate for the 3 putt bogey.

Waterfall GC in north Georgia.  The tee is at the top, above the waterfall.  175 yards or so.

Mike Cirba (Joe Bausch, maybe you know it too?), they remade #7 at Pocono Manor, added 100 yards and made it prettier.

Indian Island on GCA?! Like a second home to me. I once played there in early January and 22-degree weather, and it was magical. Thanks for recalling wonderful memories.

Actually the name was kept from the previous owner of the property, who bought the 2500 acres in Patagonia and moved there to try to make a change in his life. He was reading Reinhold Messner's The Challenge and called his new ranch El Desafio. His own challenge.  The name stuck for the new developers and is not really reflective of the golf course, that is no killer.

The short par four 16th at Bonnie Doon. Pic taken from beside the drive bunker. Acres of space left, but the angle is appalling from out there. Only 220m downhill to carry this bunker, but you're often into the wind or within mostly across. Lots of variables. Even if your round is shot by the time you reach 16, it's always fun to play.

Maybe if it ever stops raining down here I might play golf again some day!

The short par 4 17th at Huntingdon Valley (Pennsylvania) Country Club:

That looks like the approach into the long Par 4 18th.... and with new bunkers since I was there last!

Royal County Down 4 close up 1 by Kevinmarkham, on Flickr

A slight cheat as this was taken 2 weeks ago - but the Irish Open will be held here in 3 weeks' time. Course is in amazing shape so it will be fascinating to see how the Pros handle it. I think we're (in Ireland) all hoping for a McIlroy/Fowler final pairing on Sunday.

Photo is of the par three 4th
