Totally OT: It's a boy!
« on: January 27, 2009, 05:36:54 PM »
After having four girls in a row, it looks like we'll finally be having a boy in June!  I can now have a companion in the estrogen ocean I live in.

Congrats.

But I thought I was going to click on this and read:

"and a boy, and a boy and a boy, and a boy and a boy, and a girl and a girl." ;)

Nice.

I was playing in the pasatiempo member-collegiate this last spring when called my wife at the turn (she was to find out the sex of the baby at the doctor's that afternoon) from the pro shop.

When I found out it was going to be a girl, I came in with a 46 after going out in 38 and took double on 1, 2, 3 right in a row.....(We started on 10.)
 ;)

Congratulations!  You'll have a blast with the boy.

Now... tell me about girls - our first is also due in June.  :)

I had 2 girls and quit.

Scott:  Girls are great until about age 11.  Then they turn on you.  I heard they come back from Mars at about age 21.

Congratulations on your impending births.

I have 4 girls with the ages below rated thusly:

25 Worldly wise, living in London, worried about her future.

23 Still in the post-college party phase, single in the the ATL.

14 OMG! Hormones, boys and Facebook. Barely tolerates me except when she needs to draw on BOD (the Bank of Dad) but it's worse for Mom--much worse.

9 Still as sweet as can be though she tries to emulate her 14 year old sister from time to time.

I love 'em all dearly. I also know that the teen years do pass and there can be a very wonderful relationship with your daughters once they reach college age.

Congratulations!

I myself have no progeny (as far as I know).

So far my four girls have all been great, but they are all pretty young (my oldest just turned eight last week).  It is amazing to me how emotional they can already be, but nothing beats coming home from work and having four excited girls come running at you to give you a hug and kiss.

I am pretty anxious for this boy to come along though, I can only sit around and help paint nails so many times.

As the father of a 13 yr old girl, I look back on those days fondly... one quarter of such, anyway...

My experience so far seems to track that mentioned by Joel... and I sure hope in 5 years or so Doug Wright's prophecy comes true... that light looks way down at the end of the tunnel right now, though.  :'(

Anyway Bill CONGRATS!  Boys are a lot easier, in my experience.  I have two of those.... each younger....

Very funny Doug!
I married into 3 girls, so we go 18, 16, 14, 12 with a boy at 14 also! I think the kids go for at least 12,000 text messages a month between them.

Congrats Bill!!!
