I guarantee you the first time I saw it I said to myself: "WHOA, where did this come from??" Amazing green alright. I think we've talked about it on this site but not in a long time and not enough.

We (me and Wayne) haven't really seen anything else like it although I should probably not speak for Wayne.

On second thought, why not? I should speak for Wayne, particularly since I just spoke to him and he told me that for his next act he may begin to wear towels on his head, grow a beard and immitate Arabs for some odd reason! I told him I'd buy him a bunch of golf hats to prevent that but he says he really wants to wear towels on his head for a while.

How do you play this hole from the tips (241 yards!!) to a back right pin??

I am kicking myself for not taking better pictures of it but the way its cut now it wraps right back around the left side and one of the group made an aggressive putt and ran around the back.  I hit my tee ball to the approach and made a great bump shot that came off the ridge and stopped 8' below the hole.   Tom, that would have been a great thing if we had time.  We did do that on a number of greens at Sankaty yesterday as we had the place to ourselves.

Seems others don't want to play in 40 mph winds.

Steve, I really like this green.  It is made all the more interesting given that you're hitting into it with such a long club.  If it's windy you'll probably be hitting an interesting pitch for your second.  I would certainly think that it is unique, but I'll leave it to the more experienced to confirm this.

I was out there last year and it immediately reminded me of a Macdonald-Raynor-Banks Maiden green. Once you see the sharp fall-offs on both sides, it looks even more like the work of one of those guys. A very cool design.
