As a fellow superintendent on this site, I have to say that I am very impressed with Sean's efforts in keeping up with this blog. It is fantastic for the membership to view on a daily basis but I have to admit that It must take some serious time and consistensy  to enter in everyday.
Good on ya Sean
I hope to do something like this myself as education is the key!

Scott,

You are the first person I have heard with any concern with club information being available on the public side of things.  Given today’s golf market with the competition between private clubs for members, I believe that on some level my information being out there might help sway potential members to our club due to the highest level of maintenance being performed.

The members that really care about what is going on at the club value the information.  I have a couple of members that almost on a daily basis make a reference to a blog post of mine.

The emails or comment I receive are 50/50 member/ non member.  Most of the comments are more in the way of “I had no idea” and “fascinating information”.  As far as satisfying concerns they have not been verbalized.

Thanks for your answers.  I personally am not too concerned about taking private doings public, I'm just trying to pre-determine any potential negative feedback from the membership if I end up doing something as you've done.  The club I am at is (probably like most clubs transitioning to a younger membership) somewhat divided on most club matters.  Those that guard its privacy do so with passion.  Newer members- not so much.  Anyway, just wanted to see if you got any resistance.  Sounds like not an issue for you.
