Advice on Phildaelphia Golf Courses
« on: July 20, 2008, 10:20:30 PM »
Gentlemen

I am spending 4 days in Philly / New York in a couple of weeks and have a free Monday after my Pine Valley game fell through.

Any suggestions within an hour of the city?

Thanks in advance.

 :)

Atlantic City CC, Twisted Dune, Glen Mills, Lederach all come to mind, depending on where you're staying. Private clubs are usually closed on Mondays.

Glen Mills in Delaware County, PA or Scotland Run in NJ would be the closest.

I was very lucky to play Pine Valley for 2 days this same time last year . I asked here for suggestions on a Monday round before we played PV .  We played Atlantic City CC on the word of many GCA members and it was great. You will not find a better place to play, it is well worth the drive from Philly .
Firm greens, firmer fairways.

Andrew - if you have a car, I'd still drive up to the gate of Pine Valley.  Just that experience is very special.

Then, you can drive off to the east and Atlantic City :)
