Denver and beyond golf: June 5-6
« on: May 18, 2010, 09:06:38 PM »
I've got to be in Colorado for a wedding on June 5.   Since I don't want to bail on a friend at the 11th hour, I'm trying to turn it into a small golf trip.   Looking to play Saturday in the Denver area and than possibly Ballyneal on Sunday (I've got to make the arrangements).   Anyone interested?

Jon,   Have your pro at OFCC call Cherry Hills and play there- great track that Doak just renoed. Ballyneal is a fun day but quite a daytrip especially  the morning after a wedding. Are you trying to catch a flight back on the same day? Would be a really long day as it is almost 3hrs from Denver Airport each way from BN. Lots of great golf within an hour of Denver.

Jon,

Since you just played a Doak, you could go play another at Commonground.  It would be a great option if the privates don't work out for you.

Saturday might be tough though.   I heard Colorado Golf Club is pretty good too.    Ballyneal is that far?   I can take an 8:30 flight Sunday night, so I could potentially drive up after the wedding and try to play by 9 am on Sunday, possibly do 36 and make that flight.   Are you sure its 3 hours?

Unfortunately, I don't know any members there.   Besides, Sand Hills is in the middle of nowhere and very hard to get to unless you have a plane.

I have player Riverdale Dunes a couple of times.  Great value and an interesting course pretty close to the airport.  The other 18 at the complex looks very mundane.
