Which is better ?
« on: July 31, 2002, 03:29:16 AM »
With respect to driveable par 4's, at NGLA, is hole # 1 superior to hole # 2, or is hole # 2 superior to hole # 1, or,
are they a perfect combination with each accentuating different decisions and shot making elements ?

If they were reversed, would # 2 be too difficult a starting hole, even though it's driveable ?

I believe you answered your own question, Pat.  I'd say most definitely that they are:

"a perfect combination with each accentuating different decisions and shot making elements ?"

I slightly prefer #2 to #1, but others disagree and that's fine... the point is they are BOTH great golf holes and I put them at the very least among the finest #1 and #2 I have ever played, anywhere.

Sorry for the cop-out but there's really not much more to say!

Tom,

I feel that they compliment each other and have different requirements.

I would rather encounter the first green later in the round, it's a terrifying start.
