Henry or Harry Colt, which is it??

His tombstone says Henry but I see Harry all the time.

Which is it...or both?
What does it matter if the poor player can putt all the way from tee to green, provided that he has to zigzag so frequently that he takes six or seven putts to reach it?     --Alistair Mackenzie--

Fred Hawtree's "Colt & Co." has it as Henry on the title page and then Harry inside the text and no explanation as to why one and not the other. Hawtree includes the wording from the headstone as being Harry. I can't offer any further explanation without someone digging up his birth certificate. Puzzling. Was Henry a typo on the title page? If so, its one of some magnitude.

You may find it's like a lot of people whose name is John, but are called Jack, or Charles, but are called Chuck.

For what it's worth, Harry Vardon's given name was Henry as well.
