What are the similarities of TOC and Shadow Creek?
« on: November 28, 2007, 12:59:35 AM »
I'm just asking because the divergent opinions recently of some the contributors on here about the similar look and style of various golf courses are so wacko, in my opinion, that I think I need to ask the title question.

Do I need to go back to Square One or is my "Big World" theory now becoming visual too?

It's 1am in the morning here in Pennsylvania and I'm getting concerned that some of the contributors on here will try to convince me it's really noon!

Nah it's not noon.  It is 1 AM and I'm going to bed. Now I'll have nightmares.  Thanks

Tom P:

Yes, the hour was l-a-t-e when you wrote the title to this thread.

You are excused ! ;D

The only similarity between the two courses is that they have 18 holes.

That's it.

How many false fronts are there at TOC? If there's at least one, this would be a similarity.

How about side or rear kickplates?

I'm reminded of the line in Sidways.

Tom, did you drink and type? ;)

They are both populated with ugly Americans?

I'm both shocked and hurt---I ask a super serious architectural question and I get nothing but smartass answers.

I don't know whether it was just last night or whether it's me but frankly I can't even think of a single difference between TOC and Shadow Creek.

Furthermore, I think the aesthetics are virtually identical.

Wouldn't you agree, PATRICK?

18 tees and 18 greens?

Although in reality, there are 18 tees and only 11 greens at TOC.  ;)
