A Shells WWOG was once played here ...thoughts about the routing, terrain, green designs, and use of water at this  Ontario  course would be appreciated

thanks

If anyone knows about the London Hunt Club on this website, Mark, it's got to be me. My thoughts on it are all in the back pages.

London Hunt was the site of my greatest success as a golfer and I saw it every year in the same tournament and more for a lot of years.

They even kind of asked me to come back up there again a year or two ago to look at and talk about the things they were and are doing with the course.

It may be the first example, I'm aware of, of a middle modern era course that decided to restore as much as possible to the original.

So, what do you want to know about London Hunt Club?

I'll tell you one interesting trivia tidbit of London Hunt---it's the summer home course of Ed Ervasti, a guy who has apparently shot his age more than anyone else in history by perhaps a factor of about five. It can be documented that the man has shot his age or better over 3,000 times.

Tom,

I had never heard of Ed Ervasti until playing in the Canadian Mid-Amateur this year in London (not at the Hunt Club). He was a guest speaker, as was Lorne Rubenstein and it quickly circulated that this summer at the ripe old age of 93, he shot 72, an astounding 21 strokes below his age!!

Tyler:

At this point nothing Ed Ervasti does would surprise me. Last time I played at the London Hunt about two summers ago I played with three generations of Evastis, obviously including Ed.
