Delray Beach Golf Suggestions?

Any recommendations for decent public access architecture in the Delray Beach, Palm Beach or Boca Raton areas?

I'm headed down there in November with a few college buddies for a reunion of sorts. One of them is member a Mayacoo Lakes and has access to Frenchman's Preserve, Breakers East & West and The Dye Preserve while Mayacoo is undergoing a renovation.

The Dye Preserve looks pretty interesting, but it appears to be a hike from Delray. I don't know anything about the others.

Are the courses at the Boca Raton Resort & Club worth considering?

I would suggest Roy Case's new Park Ridge GC in Lake Worth. Interesting 6-6-6 routing and very playable. Built on a former landfill, it has some elevation-unique for South Florida- and no housing.

Also, the newly renovated Nicklaus North Palm Beach CC, discussed here at length a few months ago, is worth a shot. Are the greens really too severe?

Links at Madison Green isn't bad in Palm Beach Gardens.

If you aren't too far from the Turnpike the Dye Preserve is not that bad a drive.  I haven't played it but it is unique in that Pete Dye designed it and after about 20 years he was asked to come back and redo whatever he felt was necessary to make it a better course.  I understand they spent a whole bunch of money and made a bunch of changes and it is a really good track.  Let me know what you think.

That's a very generous offer, but with the motley crew we have headed on this trip, I'd have to turn down an offer to play Seminole. I'd hate to get YOU banned from CCF for trying to do us a favor. I know my buddy who's a member at Mayacoo Lakes is nervous enough. Thanks though!

Delray muni is a reasonable choice.  North Palm is very good, and the greens are not too severe in my opinion.  First year, they're always going to be firm, with time they'll soften.  It's about an hour's drive, however.  Polo Trace is a decent public access course, in Delray.  Links at Boynton Beach is OK as well.  

Dye Preserve is very good.  The others on the list are OK, good, not great.

Dye Preserve is an excellent redo by Pete Dye.

North Palm Beach redo by Nicklaus is controversial, but public and easy access.

Nothing else on the public side is really worth playing.

If you can get access to Seminole, Ritz, Bears Club, Jupiter Hills those are the best 4.

delary is a stone's throw from Gulfstream......a very fun course right near the ocean and intracoastal.....might be as hard as Seminole to access though
