I was looking at peoples comments about Irish courses, over different websites and I noticed for Pat Ruddys European Club every-one either thought it was with or above St Andrews and RCD and they loved it, or despised it 200%. The negitive comments alway got the "Ruddy Strikes Back" treatment, the man is 10 times better than Simon Cowell.(Dopes anyone have Pat's E-Mail Address as I have lost contact with him?)
Anyway back to the point, The European Club was either Loved or Hated. No-one said it was Good/OK. It is a bit like the toast spread Marmite that everyone loves or hates. So I thought what other golf courses aspire such feelings and I made a list:
The European Club
Old Head
Kingsbarns
The Belfery
Oakmont
TPC Sawgrass
PGA West
Whistling Straits
What courses do you think sould be added or taken away from this list?
What does the 'Marmitines' have in common?
Is designing a 'Marmitine' course good or bad? ie. Lots of Pete Dye
