Shameless OT - WAY TO GO, DA-REE-OH!!!
« on: May 31, 2007, 05:31:01 PM »
So the lad from FBD's hometown takes the Indy 'Crown'.

Call me a hopeless old romantic, but when I was buying Ice Cream from his Dad's van when I was a kid in small(VERY)town 60s Scotland, do you think I could ever have imagined such a scenario?

FREAKIN' MAGNIFICENT!!!! YAHOO!

And he couldn't have looked less athletic when he threw out the first pitch a few days later.

Brian,
indeed and nephew Stephen from nearby Dechmont too!

Mike,
no, just been busy having my Real (not-GCA) Life!!!

John,
Stewart's Melville boys are generally FAR better at throwing balls BACKWARDS!

Farnzo,
BMC no more!!

B,
those Franchitti boys always had the best-looking women (and the Hottest Cars too). Loads of money in Ice-Cream apparently!

I'd love to see him in an F1 car one of these days. He might actually acheive proper world fame then...

Brian,
thanks a gazillion for unearthing so many teenage memories!! Our paths may well have crossed in the 70s!

It was only 'Caesar's', as I recall. But you'd only ever find me in there after rockin' out at 'The Dreadnought'. SERIOUS Snakebite-fuelled Head-Banging!!! Thank the heavens for Punk!

Ah, Happy Days...

I've actually just come back from Dundee, where La Nancy was celebrating with a colleague who's packed in work and off on a World Tour (he doesn't golf, poor lad). They were in a pub directly across the road from the old alma mater. 30 years in ein augenblick. Scary...

 :)
