Meant to post this a couple of weeks ago when I was out there, but Minneapolis Golf Club is going to be doing some work starting in late summer.
Already a number of trees (pines primarily) have been taken out. It's pretty evident on No. 1 especially.
Highlights of what's being done to this Willie Park/Ross course:
-- Three new tee complexes will be added. I know one of them will be on No. 5 (a strong, up-the-hill par 4). Don't know where the others will be. It will push MGC over 7,000 from the back.
-- 19 bunkers will be taken out. 25 new bunkers will be added. Course will go from 71 bunkers to 77 bunkers.
