Re Wildwings, I can report that the NCGA course raters I talked to who rated it and played it each loved it.  They said it was well worth the trip to its relatively remote location.  Hopefully I get up there some day....

The hole by hole feature on the web site is pretty cool - lots of comments from Todd Eckenrode.

The Dunes Club is still one of the best places to spend a day golfing anywhere.

I believe there is a private, 50-60 year old all mens club in St. Louis called the "Bogey" Club, essentially a bar with a golf course. But it's worth noting.
