Let's Compare Architecture R&A vs USGA
« on: July 20, 2006, 09:48:02 PM »
They are alike as they are different.

The USGA takes a beautiful course and turns the greens brown and the rough into hay. The R&A basically lets Mother Nature build and setup the course. The R&A just establishes the yardage each day and selects pin placements.

The huge difference is the USGA's being enamoured with Par, as to the R&A not being that concerned.
