DM Kidd in Bend

Has anyone heard of any movement on this course?  I googled it and only saw that maybe it was delayed.  Does anyone know if they have broken ground yet?

Coore and Crenshaw are about to start a new course at Bend, too. In fact, I think it's cleared.

I saw David a month ago and he didn't say anything about a delay there, but things do change in the business.

We were talking about it because I've also signed up to do a course in the area -- ours is a few miles NE of the Redmond airport.  There's no name for the project yet and the permits are not final, so I haven't brought it up.

Funny that all us minimalists should be working in a location where there is rock everywhere underground.

Its good to see Kidd and Doak coming to the Bend area.  I am just north by about 40 minutes and appreciate what Nicklaus and Fazio have done with Pronghorn as an extreme high endgolf club.  But, their styles are too manufactured and Central Oregon begs for more natural looking golf courses to be built with a minimal touch.  Most of the golf courses that have been around for awhile are pressured into overwatering and overfertilizing, including mine at Kah-Nee-Ta Resort.  Maybe this will enable the local golfers to see what we here are all raving about.

Not to toot my own horn, but in December I finished my MBA degree in business studies ONLINE after 2 years.  So I am proud to place behind my name, MBA.

The Coore-Crenshaw development, Thornburgh Resort, is undergoing tough sledding with spirited opposition. The latest article is: http://www.tsweekly.com/oregon_newspaper_archive/7-21-05archive/localnews1.asp

They are having trouble with water rights, a recent Oregon Court of Appeals decision, and they are flat out wrong on their traffic predictions.

Update: Oregon Governor signed the house bill mentioned in the article, so water rights may not be a big issue.

Update 2: The resort is located in the Cline Butte area (Hwy 126), not Tumalo (Hwy 20), probably just west and south of  Eagle Crest resort. Having driven there for years, most traffic
will head to Redmond, and then probably to Bend. It isn't as bad as I thought an hour ago. The stringent opposition is focusing on a small area 10-15 miles away, minimally impacted. Signalling their intersection will solve the problem.
