« on: April 07, 2006, 11:26:28 PM »
If you are interested in participating in Dixie Cup III save the followings dates: Friday, Oct. 20 - Sunday, Oct. 22 or Saturday, Oct. 21 - Monday, Oct. 23. The "main event" will either be Friday-Sun or Sat-Mon based on course availability.

The current plan is to play Caledonia, True Blue and Bulls Bay, all Mike Strantz designs. Complete details will be posted in a couple of weeks. Stay tuned.

Count me in.. That's a great time of the year down there.  I've enjoyed Caledonia and True Blue and I've wanted to see Bulls Bay for a long time...

Hopefully someone else will want to play the ocean course..

Is secession anywhere close to where we'll be at?

Looking forward to it.

Mike,

I assume that with BC in the ACC, you will be forced to allow me to play. ;) Those dates look real good.

Thanks

That would be Bulls Bay...

Oh, we'll probably have something extra special planned for the ACC crowd... a cherry on the sundae.

I'm in
Live Jupiter, Fl, was  4 handicap, played top 100 US, top 75 World. Great memories, no longer play, 4 back surgeries. I don't miss a lot of things about golf, life is simpler with out it. I miss my 60 degree wedge shots, don't miss nasty weather, icing, back spasms. Last course I played was Augusta

Thanks for the bump Mike. With the greater churn rate lately, I completely missed this anouncement. I certainly hope my schedule will allow me to participate this year.

The extra special event planned for the ACC crowd will be apres-golf nightly festivities, hosted by the Duke men's lacrosse team.

John,

RNK is probably a good 4-5 hour drive away.  It's in VA, 2 states to the north.

5-6 hours...but it's right on the way if you're driving down I-95 from anywhere north of Richmond.

I wonder if my fiance would mind if I skipped our wedding on October 22nd to attend this event ;)  I will be there in spirit though to cheer on my Northern brothers who will go for three in a row I believe.  Dixie Cup one was absolutely amazing and I urge everybody who can go to attend this great event.

Can someone help me, please... I'm trying to find the thread on Dixie Cup II in Pinehurst that details the package. I've tried the "search" feature but can't bring up anything from last year. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

Hey Michael!  Should be a great event...I hope to attend.  Some of last year's details are in this thread:

Dixie Cup II Planning

I think the early planning threads and week of threads were deleted for space concerns.  Send me an IM if you need more info regarding price details, etc.
