The expert golf architect Ernie Els: apparently he has 12 courses on the go at once  The work isn't too intrusive but I've seen photos of the new bunkers and they are mediocre effort, the sod is rounded down the face rather than the sand "splashed up" as HC built.  But then I'm sure Els did zero research.

Els is planting trees too, instead of returning the heather.  I wonder if he's aware that HC regarded trees as "obnoxious and fluky hazards".


Anyway, in one article Els is claiming that he's kept true to Colt's intent.  And in the another he's telling his mates on tour:  "you're not going to recognise the place."
