CrossWinds is located in my hometown. It is a lot of fun and, believe it or not, has some the best conditioned greens in Greenville County. I have several friends who often go there just to practice their putting. During the spring and summer there is a big skins game every Wednesday night... winner(s) take all.
The holes range from 60 yards to 190 yards, so there is a lot of variety. It would be quite a stretch to say you could identify the different styles of the "designers." The one exception could be the ninth hole, which is credited to Pete Dye... the entire front of the green is framed with railroad ties imbedded into the ground, forming a wooden bank: different & fun for this type of course.
CrossWinds has several areas where you have to be on your toes or you'll get beaned... because there are usually lots of newbees playing in the evenings there often balls flying all over the place. But, all-in-all it is a LOT of fun and a great way to work on your short and mid-iron game. And, a great place to take kids to learn the game!!!
