Vertical Spines in Greens

I like the idea and the extension of the spine to the fairway but it reminds me too much of a typical Rees Jones green.  

Could you cite the golf courses and the specific holes where these features appear ?

He loves those spines in the greens and relies on them way too much.  

How would you compare them to the spines in greens that Charles Blair MacDonald, Seth Raynor and Charles Banks used ?

If used once and took advantage of the extension to the fairway I think it would work.

The feature I alluded to in Rees Jones greens is more of a mound than a spine.

Specifically:
Lookaway Golf Club 6th Hole
Cherry Valley Country Club 8th Hole
Falcon's Fire Golf Club 4th Hole

Coincidentally, all three are mid-lenth par 3s. The mound runs from the back of the green to the middle front, essentially dividing the green into a "U" shape, with the mound in the middle.

I think a functional difference between my concept and these usages is that the green contours and fairway contours pay no heed to the fairway/green line, and it's as if the green were a picnic blanket set over that particular set of features.
