Current Augusta National Golf Club Scorecard
« on: December 26, 2005, 11:07:17 AM »
I have no scanning skills, so pardon the presentation.  Since it is the subject of great debate, the current scorecard in use at Augusta National Golf Club lists the following yardages (and no other) under member tees" and "Masters tees":

1.  365 / 455
2.  515 / 575
3.  340 / 350
4.  170 / 240
5.  400 / 455
6.  165 / 180
7.  330 / 450
8.  480 / 570
9.  395 / 460

10.  450 / 495
11.  400 / 505
12.  145 / 155
13.  455 / 510
14.  380 / 440
15.  475 / 530
16.  145 / 170
17.  370 / 440
18.  385 / 465

       6365 / 7445

Don't ask me how I know this. ;)

Besides much rather playing from the members tees...

Should #3 (members) be shortened.  Are those fairway bunkers in play?
Thinking of Bob, Rihc, Bill, George, Neil, Dr. Childs, & Tiger.

That is a long 6365 in those hills.

instead of continuing to lengthen it, I have a solution:  move the Masters to the new course John Daly is designing in Chicagoland:  it's more than 8000 yards! :D

all this talk in the past about them maybe going to a shorter ball just for the Masters....does anybody really believe it?? wouldn't they have done it by now?
199 played, only Augusta National left to play!

Are there tees in between the member tees and the championship tees?  That's a huge differential, especially on holes 1,2,4,5,7!!,8,9,11!!,13,14,15,17 and 18.

Since I read about the latest changes to the course, I've been shocked by the length of the 4th. The green is so difficult, demanding not only pin point accuracy but also distance control--and over the green is absolutely dead.

The chances of making birdie at 240 yards seem miniscule.

The fourth is the toughest hole on the course and the only one that has a palm tree nearby.
