Wasn't it CB MacDonald when he built NGLA?
Also, didn't most of the early architects just come out of being considered a professional or keeper of the green?

Tom,
I get a kick out of Bernard Darwin's term, Golfing Architect.
There's a section on my web site titled, Golf Architecture. I actually considered labelling it, Golfing Architecture, as a subtle tribute to Darwin.
