American English Courses
« on: September 30, 2005, 10:17:12 PM »
What courses in America could easily be dropped into the English countryside and no one would be the wiser?  Here is what I came up with so far:

Garden City
Myopia Hunt
Part of Bandon Trails
Shinnecock

The reason I pose this question is I was just looking through some pictures of Swinley and wished there were more course that resemble this in the States.

Chicago Golf
Fishers Island
Newport CC

Not sure I agree with Bandon Trails, but Bandon Dunes could. A more interesting question could any American modern courses be dropped into the UK without notice.

Joel: That happens all the time. It's called "Bad American golf in the UK and Ireland." Let's start with the K Club, and we can follow it up with the Belfrey. I'm sure there are others.
