 It's good to mental floss everyday.  Topic of 16 seems to be resolved...until we play it again.   Now, about #15 , Narrows, at Prestwick.....   #17 at Royal Dornoch...   regarding straight or tack strategies...

You're right, this mental flossing has been beneficial!

As for those other holes, well... I have nothing to add - what's been said in this thread already seems right-on to me.  I also love holes where the "tacking" is required, but you don't learn this without very careful viewing, or repeated play.  Rustic Canyon actually has quite a few holes like this...
