Wait...the course would have been 22 holes then...yes? I am wondering if Ben may have been the leader in 9-hole increments?

No you fools,

"A stitch in time saves nine..."

Duh... not only did Franklin play golf, but he hit the crap out of the ball. In trying to drive the ninth green at St. Andrews, he tore a stitch on his feathery. Stitching it up then and there allowed him to play the nine holes back in...

So yes, a stitch in time did save nine.

22 holes back then?? A stitch in time saves nine??

Goddamn-it to hell, Benjamin Franklin was a brilliant man. Somebody must've thought he said "a stitch in time saves four" or else someone didn't subtract very well. For the last 250 years a round of golf should've been 11 holes, not 18.

No wonder everyone's always thought golf takes too long.
